Article 78: AIRY project officially launched to promote Ethical AI use among youth

We are delighted to announce the official launch of the AIRY project – Responsible Use of AI and Intelligent Choices for Youth – a new Erasmus+ small-scale partnership focused on empowering young people and youth workers with critical AI literacy skills.

Commencing on 1 March 2025 and running for 18 months, the AIRY project seeks to address the growing need for ethical, informed engagement with artificial intelligence among youth aged 16–30. It aims to:

  • Enhance young people’s understanding of AI and develop their critical thinking skills
  • Promote the responsible and ethical use of AI technologies in everyday life
  • Equip youth workers with practical tools and resources to support AI education
  • Promote digital inclusion by involving underrepresented groups in the learning process

The project brings together three committed partners from across Europe:

  • Pärnu HUUB (Estonia) – Project Coordinator
  • PlanB (Greece)
  • INQUIRIUM Ltd. (Cyprus)

To initiate the first stages of collaboration, the consortium held an online pre-kick-off meeting on 26 March 2025. This productive session marked the beginning of the project’s initial activity: mapping available AI literacy resources and identifying key challenges in each partner country. We look forward to continuing our work and to the upcoming transnational partner meeting in Estonia, where the next steps of the project will be developed collaboratively.

AIRY is not just about understanding AI—it’s about making informed, ethical, and inclusive choices in a digital age. Stay tuned as we work together to build a more responsible digital future for Europe’s youth.
