We are proud to announce the successful completion of the major phases of the Up-sTEAm project. This journey concluded with a final Transnational Project Meeting and the highly successful ‘STEM Education for Sustainable Futures’ event, where partners solidified the project’s legacy in inclusive STEM pedagogy.
Representing our organisation at these final stages were our Director, Dr Olia Tsivitanidou, and our Project Manager, Vasilia Philippou. Together with our European partners, they gathered to mark the project’s achievements and solidify its footprint in the field of modern pedagogy.
The final partners’ meeting, hosted by the University of Groningen, focused on refining final deliverables and mapping out dissemination strategies to ensure the project’s long-term sustainability. These sessions underscored a shared commitment to driving meaningful change in education through strong cross-border collaboration.
The concluding event, held on 23 April, served as a hub for educators, researchers, and innovators. The discussions focused on several key pillars of modern education such as:
- AI in STEM Education: Navigating the complexities and opportunities of the new digital frontier.
- Informal and Inclusive Learning: Strategies to ensure that no learner is left behind in non-formal settings.
- Digital Toolkits: Showcasing the practical resources and training materials developed throughout the Up-sTEAm journey.
- The Human Connection: Finding the essential balance between emerging technology and human-centric pedagogy.
The day featured a distinguished lineup of speakers, including Prof. Justin Dillon (University College London), Prof. Digna Couso (Autonomous University of Barcelona), Dr Christina Fox (Utrecht University), Dr Luana Silveri (University of Groningen), and Dr Carol Garzón López (University of Groningen, Campus Fryslân).
The success of Up-sTEAm reflects our mission to foster scientific and digital literacies, empowering future citizens to make informed decisions for a democratic and inclusive society.
We extend a huge thank you to all our partners and participants for their dedication to making Up-sTEAm a success. Explore the project’s resources and results: https://up-steam.eu/.
