On 16 March 2026, the Running Together project reached a significant milestone with its third and final partners’ meeting. Set against the vibrant backdrop of the 7th International Via Egnatia RUN 2026, this concluding gathering served as both a celebration of our achievements and a strategic session for the future of inclusive sports.
Organised by our dedicated partner, Dromeas Thrace, in collaboration with the Regional Unit of Evros, the event was a resounding success. The half-marathon and associated races attracted over 1,500 runners of all ages, genders, and ethnicities, including more than 100 international participantsādemonstrating the power of sport to unite diverse communities.
During the final meeting, the project consortium focused on finalising key deliverables and mapping out long-term sustainability strategies. Inquiry Fuse is incredibly proud of the tangible footprint this project has left on society. By capitalising on research outcomes in sports science and physical literacy, we have achieved:
- Over 300 young people and adults successfully trained on the vital importance of inclusion and equality in sports.
- The successful execution of three major running events, each drawing over 300 participants and fostering a culture of health and well-being.
- The active promotion of cross-border cooperation, using the universal language of physical activity to strengthen social cohesion and active citizenship.
We extend our deepest gratitude to our partners, Dromeas Thrace (Greece) and Sdruzhenie Inter Sport Grup (Bulgaria), for their unwavering commitment to this journey. Together, we have successfully advocated for a democratic, inclusive, and healthy society where lifelong learning and physical activity are accessible to all.
