Article 127: Inquiry Fuse at the 3rd EQUAL Play coordination meeting

On January 20, 2026, our project manager, Stephanie Antoniou, represented our team in Mirandela, Portugal, for the 3rd Coordination Meeting of the EQUAL Play project, hosted by ADCS Carvalhais.

The EQUAL consortium spent the day focused on the strategic development of the project’s educational toolkit and the organization of upcoming hands-on workshops. These resources are meticulously designed to share curriculum best practices specifically tailored for female basketball players and academies, ensuring that young athletes have the support and frameworks they need to thrive.

The meeting continued on January 21 with a specialized workshop that bridged the gap between academic research and professional experience. Our partners gained invaluable insights from a distinguished panel of keynote speakers:

  • Artur Santos: University Professor in Sports Science, providing the scientific foundation for athletic development.
  • Sofia Coelho: Former Portuguese National Team player, sharing the lived experience of a professional athlete.
  • Paulo Jorge: Former basketball coach and regional manager, offering a strategic perspective on sports management.

The visit concluded with a powerful display of the project’s mission: a friendly basketball match between teenage female players from Spain and Portugal. This match was more than a competition; it was a celebration of inclusion, diversity, and cross-cultural collaboration, proving that sport is a universal language for social impact. Inquiry Fuse is proud to work alongside our dedicated partners: Ajuntament de Pedreguer, ADCS Carvalhais, Akademija Jelavić, Udruga ECHO, and Sporelcileri Dernegi, to drive this mission forward.
