Article 121: Second Transnational meeting of the BREAKS project

Our Project Manager, Stephani Antoniou, traveled to Rome for the second transnational meeting of the BREAKS Project, hosted at the University of Roma Foro Italico on November 27–28.

It was a fantastic opportunity to regroup with our partners: the University of Patras, University of Niš, Infinitivity Design Labs, and Stimmuli.

We all know that kids focus better when they aren’t stuck behind a desk for hours on end. The BREAKS project is built on the idea that “active breaks”, short, purposeful bursts of physical activity, can significantly sharpen cognitive focus and improve overall mental well-being in the classroom.

The two days in Rome were highly productive. Our primary focus was on two major milestones:

  • The BREAKS Training Package: We’ve finalized the curriculum that will help teachers integrate these movement breaks into their daily schedules without disrupting their lesson plans.
  • Platform Testing: We got our hands on the prototype of our new digital learning platform, ensuring it’s intuitive and ready for educators to use.

The planning phase is now behind us, and we’re moving straight into implementation. In the coming months, you can expect:

  • The e-Platform Launch: a digital hub for virtual teacher training.
  • Hands-on Workshops: practical sessions where we’ll show teachers exactly how to plan and lead these breaks.
  • School Pilots: we’ll be heading into real classrooms to test these tools and measure their impact on student development.

We’re incredibly excited to see these tools finally reach the hands of teachers and students. To follow our progress or dive deeper into the research, head over to breaks-project.eu.
