Article 120: New project launch: “Hearts & Hands”

We are thrilled to announce that our new Erasmus+ project, “Hearts & Hands: Enhancing Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) for Deaf Children and Their Families,” has officially begun.

On Friday, November 28th, the INQUIRIUM team joined our partners for the first online meeting. It was a productive session that set the stage for what promises to be a deeply impactful journey.

Why “Hearts & Hands”?

For Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing (DHH) children, developing Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) and Theory of Mind (ToM) can be a unique challenge, often due to communication barriers rather than a lack of ability. The “Hearts & Hands” project was born to address this specific need. Our mission is to look beyond basic communication and focus on holistic development helping these children understand their own emotions and the perspectives of others.

This project is not just about theory; it is about practical, hands-on support. Over the coming months, we will be working to empower parents and adult educators with specialized skills, including:

  • using play as a universal language to build trust and emotional intelligence.
  • equipping professionals with the tools to bridge communication gaps effectively.

We are just getting started, and we can’t wait to share more as we move into the development phase.
