Article 105: ViRaLes Project Partners Meet in Italy for Productive Second Transnational Meeting

The ViRaLes consortium gathered in Foligno, Italy, for the project’s second transnational partner meeting on September 9th and 10th. Our Project Manager and Senior Researcher, Elena Mylona, attended on behalf of INQUIRIUM. Partners from Cyprus, Italy, Portugal, and Germany came together to review progress and shape the next stages of this ambitious project.

The ViRaLes (Virtual Reality Immersive Learning for Emergency Services) project, funded by the Erasmus+ programme, aims to transform the training of emergency responders through innovative e-learning modules and a VR-based simulation scenario.

During the productive meeting, partners discussed the five e-learning modules (on building collapses, mass gatherings, industrial fires, active shooter events, and remote medical emergencies) which are now in peer review. They also explored the design of the e-learning platform and set plans for the VR simulation scenario focusing on an industrial fire response.

A key outcome was the clear outline for the upcoming pilot testing activities and evaluation, which will be conducted across all partner countries. The meeting was an excellent opportunity to strengthen collaboration, exchange ideas, and align on all future steps.

We extend our sincere thanks to our host, Prof Danilo Calabrese, for organizing the inspiring and productive meeting. The ViRaLes consortium is now focused on finalizing the platform and VR tools for pilot testing with emergency responders and trainers.
