Article 63: Sharing Up-STEAm at the CYPRUS STEAME FESTIVAL 2024

A heartfelt thank you to all the educators who joined us last Saturday at the workshop held during the CYPRUS STEAME FESTIVAL 2024 in Limassol!

We were delighted to share practices and educational materials developed through the Erasmus+ project Up-STEAm. The project addresses challenges faced by primary school students, especially those with learning difficulties or unique needs, in traditional education systems. It highlights the potential of non-formal education as an alternative pathway for developing STEAM skills.

Unfortunately, educators often receive little to no training in STEAM methodologies or the design of inclusive activities. Up-STEAm bridges this gap by equipping future educators with the tools to create effective STEAM activities in non-formal learning environments. By enhancing teachers’ skills, the project improves accessibility to STEAM education and aims for better learning outcomes for all students.

A big thank you to the Cyprus Mathematical Society and the Thales Foundation for their excellent organization of the festival, as well as Linopetra High School for hosting the event.
