Article 133: AIRY Update

As we move forward with the AIRY (Responsible use of AI and Intelligent Choices for youths) project, we are now entering a critical phase: the development of an interactive handbook designed specifically for young people aged 16–30.

This handbook is a direct response to the key findings from our recent focus groups held in Estonia, Cyprus, and Greece. It addresses the real practices, concerns, and future expectations young people have regarding Artificial Intelligence.

The primary objective of this handbook is to present AI not just as a supportive tool, but also to emphasize the crucial need for critical thinking, ethical awareness, and responsible use, particularly in the context of combating misinformation.

To ensure its effectiveness, the handbook will be designed to be youth-friendly, practical, and visually engaging, grounded in real-life examples of everyday AI interaction. It is intended for both self-directed learning and as a resource for youth workers.

The handbook will focus on three core pillars:

  1. Understanding AI: what it is and how it works.
  2. Misinformation and fake news
  3. Ethical AI: Navigating the digital world responsibly
