Barcelona became the meeting point for the UP-STEAM consortium this November, as partners gathered for our latest transnational project meeting.
On November 20th and 21st, we were hosted by our colleagues at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) for a crucial milestone in our project. After months of online collaboration and development, it was refreshing to sit down face-to-face to review our progress and plan the next stages of our journey.
The UP-STEAM project has a clear mission: to upskill future teachers to deliver inclusive STEAM activities in “non-formal” settings like museums, parks, and community centers.
During our two days in Barcelona, the agenda was packed with strategic discussions focused on:
- We reviewed the materials we are developing to help university students understand how to teach STEAM outside the traditional classroom.
- We discussed the final touches on the digital resources that will support these future educators.
- We mapped out the timeline for testing these new tools with students in our partner countries.
Beyond the spreadsheets and presentations, these meetings are vital for strengthening the bond between our partners. We had the chance to exchange ideas, challenge each other’s assumptions, and ensure that the tools we are building are truly inclusive for all pupils.
A big thank you to the UAB team for their warm hospitality and for organizing such a productive session. Follow UP-STEAM journey: https://up-steam.eu/
