WOMEN-KICK project aims to enhance female footballers’ health, performance, and careers by providing gender-specific education on injury prevention, training, nutrition, and menstrual health. The project brings together partners from five EU countries to develop a digital learning platform, engage athletes and coaches, and promote inclusive, evidence-based football training.
The project Specific Objectives (SOs) are:
SO1: To identify and assess knowledge gaps and challenges faced by coaches and female athletes regarding health management, sports demands, and gender-specific considerations in coaching and training.
SO2: To equip coaches, support staff, and female athletes with evidence-based resources to optimise performance while safeguarding health, by developing, validating and implementing evidence-based educational materials, tailored to the physiological, psychological, and performance-related needs of female athletes.
SO3: To pilot-test and evaluate the effectiveness and usability of the WOMEN-KICK educational platform, ensuring that its content is relevant, engaging, and impactful for end-users (coaches and female athletes).
SO4: To disseminate project findings, foster engagement, and promote the adoption of the WOMEN-KICK educational platform across Europe, contributing to long-term sustainability and policy influence in female sports.
