How fast are you really?
What makes athletes accelerate?
And how do scientists turn movement into data?
Join Inquiry Fuse for a full-day Sports & STEAM workshop where teenagers aged 13-16 become both athletes and sports scientists. Over five action-packed hours, participants investigate the real science behind sprinting, reaction time and human movement, through a combination of outdoor challenges, technology-based analysis and hands-on experiments.
Participants begin outdoors with sprint challenges filmed on tablets along the nearby nature trail. Back indoors, they analyse their own footage using video analysis tools, exploring biomechanics, body positioning and acceleration data just like professional sports scientists do. Newtonās Laws of Motion then come to life through hands-on experiments linked directly to what participants experienced on the track, making physics feel immediate, relevant and genuinely exciting.

This workshop is ideal for teenagers who enjoy movement, problem-solving, science and technology. Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of how science, technology and data are used in sport, along with practical insights into their own athletic performance.
