The ACT-AI Academy project aims to establish a pan-European academy for student- teachers, in-service teachers, and school leaders. Our goal is to equip and upskill educators with the necessary competencies to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies effectively and ethically in educational settings. We will develop a comprehensive AI Teacher Education Framework, a modular training program with micro-courses, and an interactive digital platform to support teachers’ professional development. With a diverse consortium of 17 partners from 8 countries, ACT-AI aims to set a new standard for teacher education in the digital age, ensuring that every teacher can contribute to and benefit from Europe’s digital transformation.
The specific objectives of ACT-AI are to:
SO1: Cooperate transnationally, raise partners’ competencies, enhance towards learning organisations.
SO2: Establish the ACT-AI Academy as a nexus of excellence for digital education, offering evidence-based pedagogical strategies and advancing the effective integration of AI in educational practices.
SO3: Create an AI Teacher Education framework that takes into consideration existing frameworks, incorporating advanced aspects of AI technology exploitation for a holistic teaching and learning experience and teachers’ professional engagement.
SO4: Develop a modular training program underpinned by the ACT-AI framework, designed to enhance AI competences for both student-teachers and in-service teachers, through physical, blended, and online modes of micro-learning.
SO5: Establish a fully operational digital learning platform, serving as a central hub for accessing training materials, facilitating community interactions, and supporting collaborative educational projects.
SO6: Increase teachers’ AI-enhanced competences and awareness of AI biases through participation in the ACT-AI modular training program, ollowing a transdisciplinary and micro-learning approach, and practical experiences in real-classroom settings.
SO8: Systematically evaluate the impact of the ACT-AI Academy activities, employing a mixed-method approach, to ensure continuous improvement.
SO9: Disseminate the ACT-AI Academy and the new learnings from practical experience and scientific knowledge locally and to the EU.
